NKB racing meets the german touring cars championship DTM!
Speed meets speed.
The last weekend the DTM had their stop in Zandvoort and Dirk Hanel went to meet up with the DTM Thomas Sabo Mercedes Team. As the first german television, ARD, wanted to film some activities of the racecar drivers apart from the racetrack Dirk went Kitesurfing with Christian Vietoris.
As the DTM track of Zandvoort is just behind the dike, it is a perfect place to do the first steps with the kite and the race is always very exciting as the track goes through the sanddunes.
The weekend being with lots of wind and rain squalls and showers was super interesting and full of action. Dirk took a taxi ride with last years Thomas Sabo Racecar in order to feel the real speed on the race track. Then being guest of Mercedes Benz Team he had the chance to visit the box of the team during warm up and pitstop.
The walk right before the start of the race through the grid and a meet and greet with Garry Paffet, leader of the current DTM championships, was as exciting as watching the thrilling racing.
Unfortunately the photoshoot of DTM racecar meets Kitesurf did not work out because of to many rainshowers and a too tight schedule on the racetrack. To be continued at one of the next venues.

The new Vegas - behind the scenes of the photo shoot!
Already in spring 2012, the North Kiteboarding Freestyle-Team headed to the beautiful Island of Sri Lanka, located south-east of India for the annual Vegas Shoot! Along with Tom Hebert, Thomas Paris, Mario Rodwald and Tom Court came the brand new Vegas, the all new Trust Bar and of course the Twintip range!
Sri Lanka is a dedicated place to kite, endless lagoons up in the North deliver kilometers of flat water and nice, steady winds. After 10 days of riding and blessed with every day wind, we decided to discover the country, where our kites are made!
Since many years now, North Kiteboarding is working closely together with this production in Sri Lanka, to ensure to produce the best possible products in the highest quality and to be able to save secrets in production from e.g. chinese manufacturers.
What we found there, was not only a beautiful countryside with delicious food and a cultural rich tradition, but also open hearted people, who welcomed us as friends and family wherever we went.
